Spring is beautiful, and always a welcome change from Winter. It is also unpredictable, especially for a photographer. Nicole is a busy entrepreneur along with expecting her second baby. We were able to coordinate our schedules for her maternity session, planned on April 1st. However, Mother Nature had different plans for us that day and we were rained out. We were also rained out on our rain date! By the time we were able to do Nicole's session, she was already 37 weeks pregnant.
When I schedule maternity sessions for my clients, I try not to schedule them this late in pregnancy. For starters, as you approach the 37 week mark, you run the chance of the momma-to-be going into labor before we have the session! Another reason is that a maternity session in the very last stretch of pregnancy can be hard on the momma-to-be. It becomes more difficult to stand and walk for longer periods of time as you get closer to the end of your pregnancy. I want maternity sessions to be enjoyable for my clients, so I do try to schedule them before the 37th week.
Nicole, however, was such a trooper. You would never guess that she was 37 weeks pregnant! I am so glad we were rained out the first two evenings because the lighting and sky was amazing the night we had the session! A gorgeous, warm glow poured all over Nicole and her beautiful bump. It was the perfect "accessory" with every one of the gowns, and Nicole was just stunning in every one. It was a wonderful outdoor maternity session that even included a visit (and photobomb) from some deer!
