My best friend is having a baby! Rita and I have been friends since we were about 10 years old. Our moms worked together, and decided to introduce the families. We soon became inseparable, and have been through everything together! Boyfriends, graduations, weddings, and now the next phase of life - mommyhood! Despite being friends forever, I have only ever photographed Rita and her husband Dan one other time, before their official engagement session. It was also before I was a professional photographer. Even so, we captured some great memories that day when they were just babies, and real babies were a distant thought.
I traveled to Wisconsin to do Rita and Dan's maternity session, and was looking forward to working in different landscape and locations. However, while I was there, the weather was unseasonably cold and far too cold for being outside in maternity gowns! Luckily, I always like to be prepared, and I had brought my studio lighting even though the plan had been an all outdoor session. We did go outside in Rita and Dan's backyard quickly, and were able to get some gorgeous images in a short amount of time. For the rest of the session, however, we stayed nice and warm with a cozy lifestyle session!
We had so much fun together, and lots of laughs. The images perfectly capture Rita and Dan's relationship. They are so comfortable with and have such a natural love for one another. Plus, they love to laugh together. They also have the best smiles! I am pretty certain that their little love will also have an amazing smile
I am so excited to be on this journey with Rita and Dan. I know that they will be amazing parents, and I cannot wait to watch it happen!
I am also so excited to be an auntie and can't wait to snuggle their baby!
