I do not typically do model calls anymore unless a vendor needs something showcased or I'm looking to try something new. Last month, I was lucky enough to start my marketing/promotional video with, Geoff, whom I've worked with before on a previous session video.
A friend reached out to Michelle to let her know that her sweet Rory might be the perfect little model for what I needed to capture during the session. First of all, can we talk about her name! I cannot get over how adorable and how well it suits her. She posed so wonderfully and her mommy and daddy both so sweet and fun to work with.
I'm a huge fan of all types of art, body art is just another form of expression and is beautiful! Of course I wanted to incorporate daddy's art into the session as well and I think it was just the extra touch of color that made it perfect for their daddy & daughter photos. What made them extra amazing is the fact that Rory not only stayed awake while in daddy's arms, but also looked right into the camera as daddy snuggled her.
I think every photographer has their favorite pose no matter how many times we do them, and every baby's flexibility and ability is different that no matter how often we do the pose it's always different. My favorites happen to be the froggy pose (where the baby holds their head in their hands. ***For safety this is a composite, baby is never holding the weight of their head on their own) and the bum up pose, where they're curved with their little tushy in the air <3
Rory was a dream and I'm so happy with how her little modelling session turned out - I'm eager to see the video and to share it with you all!
